Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP)
There are no negative responses, only natural responses to negative experiences.
A trauma response in the body can come from a specific negative event or a collection of negative experiences over time. Our bodies and minds were designed to help us prevent these experiences from happening again by becoming hypervigilant, which can bring on anxiety, depression, isolation, addiction, or relationship problems. This hypervigilance may no longer be serving you—and may now be harming you or holding you back—but you may still be struggling with turning it off. In healing trauma, we will encourage you to take your power back by acknowledging your strengths, reframing your experiences, and creating new ways to live the way you want and deserve.
